Sweets for Thought

DSC_0241

Time for me to relax and eat my favorite Dutch Apple pie while typing my sweet thoughts about the invasion of different print types in the fashion industry.

I don’t know about you ladies, but for my personal taste, I love all the different prints that I now see everywhere.  It is a very modern and youthful trend – definitely unconventional in a good way.

All I see lately all over the store showcases are different prints and all kinds of fabrics, such as silk, linen, cotton and much more.  They resemble abstract expressionism and I think if Pablo Picasso was still alive he would agree with me.  Picasso was and artist of many styles, and abstract art was a part of his amazing talent.  So I think prints as an art expression brings a new flavor to the fashion world.

Remember the introduction of prints back in the 80s?  But this time the trend comes more powerful, and with such a enigmatic and elegant appearance.

For my personal taste, I prefer prints better on bottoms than tops.

In my opinion, the skinny jeans with a little touch of print, are my favorite :)

I encouraged you to show that feminine silhouette, but keep in mind to add some prints to your a outfit in a delicate way.

Let’s make a mark on the fashion world this Spring and Summer, let’s be the ones who lead in fashion over this wonderful time of the year, with some stunning and inspirational looks.

Stay Fabulous.

The Little Black Jacket

DSC_0759

Hello beauties,

Today is time for me to talk about the Little Black Jacket.

We all know about the little black dress, but this particular Jacket plays a big role in our wardrobe.

The little black dress, and the Little Black Jacket, are big staples from
Chanel.

This piece of clothing is definitely a symbol of feminine elegance.

This Jacket came to life in 1954 when Mademoiselle Chanel decided to surprise the Fashion industry with a uniquely sophisticated Jacket that to today is still a timeless piece of art :)

For the Little Black Jacket, there are no rules!

Because the best part is that you literally can wear it with everything of any color.
Fashion advice:

Make sure if you are going to invest in this item, look for quality, meaning good fabric and beautiful buttons because this Jacket will be your best friend forever :)

Stay fabulous!

Burgundy: The Hottest Fall Color!

DSC_0164

Hello my fashion friends, hope everyone had an amazing weekend :)

Have any of you started wearing or thinking about fall colors yet?  If not, let’s start preparing our wardrobe for this Fall and Winter seasons together, since two heads think better that just one, right ?? LOL…

Yes, the day has come when we have to talk start talking about the fall again, and this year one of the hottest Fall colors is Burgundy !!!

To be honest, I was never a big fan of this color until recently.  I guess it is all about having an open mind, trying to make new fashion statements, and most importantly having fun doing it :)

What do we know about Burgundy?  Well, I found out that burgundy is the perfect connection to the Fall season as well as a remarkable color in many top fashion collections this year.  We know that it is a deep dark red, very strong, and rich, that we can definitely take advantage of and use in many different ways.  Keep in mind, burgundy is also a great color to get into the Holiday mood as well :)

So if you are wondering how to pair this color with others, here are some of my ideas, like my little son always says: “Ready…Set….Go” LOL!!

Five Burgundy fashion inspiration tips, just for you:

1. Burgundy and light grey or silver – one of my favorite combinations.

2. Burgundy and navy blue – a very rich look.

3. Burgundy with white – a very youthful look for a casual occasion, but also for formal attire as well.

4. Burgundy and camel – this is another one of my favorites as well. These two colors together are like an open invitation for the Fall, and if you add some denim to them, you’ll totally Rock :)

5. Burgundy and black – even when they are both strong colors, if you are looking for the sophisticated look, this can work perfectly. Try a burgundy blouse with a high waste shirt – very classy and elegant!

And some extra tips: Burgundy also looks great in leather, such as leather shoes, purses, even a leather jacket which you might consider incorporating into your timeless wardrobe.  If you want burgundy to be the prime color in your outfit, a coat, a sweater, or some jeans can be used with it to totally bring out your high class signature, as was my preference in this post.

I chose this burgundy skort today because for the California weather, it is just perfect :)

And my last thought, don’t just stick to the high street when shopping this fall.  I always recommend investigating all different type of stores – from the high end to the low budget. Let’s all be the fashion police, and see for ourselves just how much we can save and how much fun we can have while doing it.   So raise your hands if you agree with me…..LOL

I leave you all once again with one of my favorite quotes: “Always keep your eyes open. Keep watching. Because whatever you see can inspire you.” —Grace Coddington

Stay Fabulous Beauties !

Romper Review

DSC_0118One of the hottest and most popular fashionable trends for this Summer are Jumpsuit/Rompers. Yes, they are back big-time, as strong as ever!

It is unbelievable how our tastes do change over the years. Before, I would never even try to put on a Romper, and I definitely would never go out shopping just for one.

In my mind wearing a Romper was always like making a fashion crime. But each and everyday I saw more and more Rompers all over the fashion magazines, and I realized that maybe it was just one of those trends that was out there for so long that I never even gave them a chance.

So, I injecting some fashion confidence in myself, I finally got in the market, looked around, and bought my first one.

The good news about the Jumpsuit/Romper is that you can dress them down with some flats or sandals; or dress them up with heels and accessories.  You just need to choose the style that suits you best.

Wether you are searching for the glamorous or a casual look, there is definitely one out there to fulfill your own taste. Pretty much any shape of purse will go fine with the Romper: big ones, little ones, clutches, cross body bags…and with the right jewelry, it just depends on the occasion.

Many times they can even save the day, because you don’t have to put too much thought into a full Romper outfit.

So if you are scrambling in your closet for that particular outfit to make a statement, get into a Jumpsuit/Romper mood and get ready to Rock!

But a few things you need to know first:   For women who are not very tall, short Rompers are the best way to go.  For women with average sizes, long or short Rompers are totally perfect.  And for women, like me, who are not fortunate to have any Fanny – well, I prefer to choose one that is a little loose on the body, to make sure I don’t look like I’m wearing a potato sack LOL…

I will say, though, that even when Rompers are now one of my favorite items for this Summer, they are still a challenge in the ladies room LOL…But looking fabulous is always worth the sacrifice, right ladies!!

So embrace the sophisticated or laid-back girl with this staple trend.

Stay fabulous!!!

Leather in Summer !

009 CSC_0610 (1)

Hello Divas,

Today the subject will be Leather, so grab a hot tea or something sweet and enjoy the discussion

When we think about leather clothes, we might immediately assume bad boys, sexy girls, or Rocks Stars, but seriously, leather has become a staple in a fashionista’s wardrobe.

It is hard to say exactly when leather became a part of the fashion world. Evidence shows that even in prehistoric times leather was used for clothing.

In the 1980’s, leather became very powerful with Punk Culture and then with Heavy Metal fans, like my husband LOL

But designers turned that image around and presented leather as chic sophisticated and fun.

This year and last year, leather appeared in collection after collection; and season-after-season, leather appears with the biggest personalities walking on the fashion street.

While leather was typically stereotyped as a cool/winter weather material, fashion trends do change!

Leather can be easily worn in all seasons, done in fresh beautiful colors from leather dresses, jackets, vests and leggings to shorts, tops and skirts.

I’ll show you that summer leather can be as comfortable as a pair of flip flops.

So, if you just can’t get enough with leather, don’t worry about it because this is a look set to be around for a long time.

My rules for leather:

I always love black with black, or black with white, using neutral colors for my taste, and if I choose a big purse, there is no need for big accessories.

Also, keep it simple and and tasteful because you always want to look classy never trashy

Stay fabulous.
