Camouflage

To be completely honest I have never been a huge fan of the camo trend until recently.

I thought this style did not suit me well, but I think I was wrong. I can totally wear camo using the right elements.

So if you are still skeptical like me, maybe it is time for you to challenge yourself for something new :) I swear to you, you won’t regret it :)

Just so you know this trend has been on and off for awhile now, and I don’t see it disappearing from Vogue any time soon :)

You will see more camo this Spring 2015.  So why not freshen your current look. Right ??

But the question is how to wear this. For me in this outfit I choose to be chic, something easily distinguishable and ready for action :)

So I chose a black solid free flowing top, with a little beige Jacket. I added a pair of my favorite nude heels for a classic approach :)

Go simple with the rest of your outfit, including accessories :) That is the safe way to go :)

The effect I want to make with this outfit is one of an elegant defining package :)

Always classy and chic :)

BTW I don’t think I will wear the Rita Ora camouflage coat that she recently wore in London :)

For right now I will just stick with the pants, but you never know what the fashion future holds for me LOL…

Stay fabulous.

Red Heels

DSC_0415

Almost every woman I know owns a pair of red high heels, but let’s be honest, how often do we really wear them !!!

Well, there are many things we can do with them.

A very simple outfit can definitely become a confident statement with your red heels, and they can make you feel sexy and glamorous too!

But beware, those same heels can quickly look inappropriate if worn the wrong way. So always keep in mind that red heels can totally make or break your outfit :)

I have to confess, for a long time red heels were a big “No…No” for me. My brain, just wouldn’t accept them until recently:)

Then I found a pair of red heels tucked away in my garage. Upon looking at them, I felt an instant emotional connection LOL… And with my full heart said “I do”!!! And with that we became best friends :)

If you don’t have a pair yet, investing in a gorgeous one is never a bad idea :) specially when it is about to complement an outfit. However, make sure the red shoes are the master piece of your outfit, and avoid excessive jewelry. Keep the look clean and classy!

Stay Fabulous !!

A Little Vintage is Never Too Much!

DSC_0186Ok ladies, let’s open our hearts and be true to our feelings towards fashion. Yes, sometimes we all go shopping thinking we just want to see something that completely blows our minds away. That one piece of clothing that makes us feel beautiful, confident, chic and fabulous.

But seriously, how many times do we find the magical clothing we were searching for?

The thing is, sometimes I get overwhelmed by all the different fashion possibilities out there, and just want to add my own personal touch to an outfit I once loved before, like today.  Today, I am with a vintage spirit!

Normally, when we use the word Vintage, our minds immediately think about old or second-hand clothes.  But there is much more to this concept regarding fashion.

Vintage is about clothing that holds precious memories for us.  And I know each of us has some favorite piece of clothing that reminds us of some happy moment, or of a style and time period we just love.

Like this black Blazer I decided to wear today.  It’s a bebe® Blazer I bought like nine years ago, and I still treasure it because I love that it is tailored to fit so perfectly to my body shape.

How to make a Vintage style work for you, without looking out of fashion?

First, investigate your wardrobe and find that favorite item that once-upon-a-time made you feel like a movie star.

Then style it with something youthful to create your own new personal style.

And don’t forget, the best feeling in the world is when somebody compliments your outfit, and you know you recreated the look using your own imagination :)

I always use this expression: It doesn’t take a fortune to look fabulous, our imaginations have no limits, so why not use them :)

So, let that fashion designer inside of you walk on the High Street feeling like Heidi Klum is right besides you….and boy would she would be so jealous of you…:)

Maybe we can all get into a Vintage mood and use a vintage fashion style sometime this week :)

I leave all of you with one of my favorite quotes: “Each day is a page in your fashion story.”  Today, for me, it is Vintage :)

Stay Fabulous!

Remember Skorts?

DSC_0979Today I decided to share with you beautiful ladies my latest fashion obsession.

Yes, a SKORT!  Which isn’t quite Shorts, and not quite a Skirt!

It is an incredible piece of fashion that offers the elegant look of a skirt with the comfort of a pair of shorts.

This genius combination of a Skirt and a pair of Shorts is back with a vengeance after being all over Milan’s Runways a couple of seasons ago.

Gaining popularity with last year and this year’s summer styles, the Skort has finally become a hit.

Even many stars, including the famous model Kate Moss, are now very much into the new style of Shorts.

I personally recommend it for every woman’s wardrobe.

To me, one of my favorite items is high-waisted Skort with an oversized top and high heels.

This is just so perfect for an edgy modern look! Or, add a tank top and flats if you want to keep it a bit more casual and sporty. Hope you enjoy the post as much I enjoyed the photo shot.

Stay Fabulous!

Leather in Summer !

009 CSC_0610 (1)

Hello Divas,

Today the subject will be Leather, so grab a hot tea or something sweet and enjoy the discussion

When we think about leather clothes, we might immediately assume bad boys, sexy girls, or Rocks Stars, but seriously, leather has become a staple in a fashionista’s wardrobe.

It is hard to say exactly when leather became a part of the fashion world. Evidence shows that even in prehistoric times leather was used for clothing.

In the 1980’s, leather became very powerful with Punk Culture and then with Heavy Metal fans, like my husband LOL

But designers turned that image around and presented leather as chic sophisticated and fun.

This year and last year, leather appeared in collection after collection; and season-after-season, leather appears with the biggest personalities walking on the fashion street.

While leather was typically stereotyped as a cool/winter weather material, fashion trends do change!

Leather can be easily worn in all seasons, done in fresh beautiful colors from leather dresses, jackets, vests and leggings to shorts, tops and skirts.

I’ll show you that summer leather can be as comfortable as a pair of flip flops.

So, if you just can’t get enough with leather, don’t worry about it because this is a look set to be around for a long time.

My rules for leather:

I always love black with black, or black with white, using neutral colors for my taste, and if I choose a big purse, there is no need for big accessories.

Also, keep it simple and and tasteful because you always want to look classy never trashy

Stay fabulous.

Fashion Culture with Burberry

Stunning Chic Fashion Culture with Burberry: Blouse by Burberry, Skirt by bebe, Purse by Gianni Bini, Chocolate brown heels by bebe, watch by Michael Kors, and Burgundy Sunglasses by Armani Exchange.

When we talk about today’s most important fashion industries in the world, our first thoughts may fall to Paris, Milan, London, or New York.
But what about the rest of the world? What about Africa, India, the Middle East….and I can go on and on. Each country, in every region, has its own and incredibly pure sense of fashion.

While many people may feel that our clothing is just an everyday necessity or a way of introducing ourselves to the world, for many others it represents their cultures and beliefs.
Fashion lives with us and exists in our world forever. Fashion changes as we as humans evolve and change as well.

Communities of people in countries around the world create their own fashion trends using all the elements Mother Nature has to offer.

They express thoughts, beliefs, religion and their own style of life through fashion.

Throughout all of time, designers have also expressed their own imaginations through cultural clothing.

The way how each creates art on a body with layers of culturally exquisite luxuries such as fabrics and jewelry…the way how they mix and match colors, makeup and different accessories… everything is executed with such fabulous perfection, not only as a way to express a cultural meaning, but also as a means of seduction or ways to captivate the eyes of an audience.

These “body paintings” tell the world and history so much about who we are.

That is why fashion is so much more than all brands put together.

Fashion is an instant connection to the world, and I even believe, that in a sense, God is also a designer.

Today, I chose to highlight a Burberry top.

Burberry, created by Thomas Burberry, is a British luxury brand that has been in business since1856 and is particularly famous for its signature trench coat and plaid patterns.

Today, when I think about different cultures, I can see the representation of British culture very well within Burberry; and I feel that the pattern of Burberry brings a pronounced touch of class and elegance to my outfit.

One reason why I love Burberry so much is because the Burberry Foundation was stablished in 2008 as a philanthropic organization dedicated to helping young people realize their dreams through the powers of their own creativity. In 2011, Burberry Porsum also highlighted its London Fashion week with African Fabrics and showed the world just how much Africa cultures have to offer today’s Fashion industry.

I choose to wear my Burberry blouse with a white skirt, brown or gold heels, and a brown purse. To me, this is classy and chic but still a very youthful and fun outfit :)

Stay fabulous!

The GJ Dress

The GJ dress

Let me share with you the history behind the GJ dress featured in today’s post:

Since I was a little girl, I was always fascinated with the idea of designing my own clothes.

I remember cutting sheets and cloths until my mother had to take them away from me.  You see, I always dreamt of designs in my mind that I just couldn’t find in any store.

So, when I decided to start my blog, I thought that maybe…just maybe…I could show little-by-little my own fashion designs, but of course, I am not a professional designer, I’m just someone with a huge imagination, right? :)

Then, one day while having tea after tennis, I was discussing the Stunning Chic blog with a new friend.  We shared many of the same childhood fashion fantasy stories.  She was telling me when she was a young girl, she always wanted to be in style and have beautiful clothes as well.  But she decided to go to college and become a professional Fashion Designer.  WOW! I could not believe it!  I told her how much I would love to make a dress, but I just did not know how to execute the idea.

So another day (while talking about fashion, of course) I showed her some pictures and explained how I would love to have a dress that looked like this.  Amazingly, from those ideas, and our discussions, she created this fabulous dress!

My wonderful friend’s name is Jaimi Peterson Runyan, and I feel like she and I make a perfect team together.  Both of us love fashion as a way to express to the world who we really are!

We decided that this dress needed to be light pink and black with gold buttons, the three colors represent my personality, and this blog, the best!

I’m so proud to share with all of you our very first dress.  The GJ dress!

Why “GJ“?  “G” for Gemma, “J” for Jaimi :)

Be creative on your own, and stay Fabulous!
