Remember Skorts?

DSC_0979Today I decided to share with you beautiful ladies my latest fashion obsession.

Yes, a SKORT!  Which isn’t quite Shorts, and not quite a Skirt!

It is an incredible piece of fashion that offers the elegant look of a skirt with the comfort of a pair of shorts.

This genius combination of a Skirt and a pair of Shorts is back with a vengeance after being all over Milan’s Runways a couple of seasons ago.

Gaining popularity with last year and this year’s summer styles, the Skort has finally become a hit.

Even many stars, including the famous model Kate Moss, are now very much into the new style of Shorts.

I personally recommend it for every woman’s wardrobe.

To me, one of my favorite items is high-waisted Skort with an oversized top and high heels.

This is just so perfect for an edgy modern look! Or, add a tank top and flats if you want to keep it a bit more casual and sporty. Hope you enjoy the post as much I enjoyed the photo shot.

Stay Fabulous!

Leather in Summer !

009 CSC_0610 (1)

Hello Divas,

Today the subject will be Leather, so grab a hot tea or something sweet and enjoy the discussion

When we think about leather clothes, we might immediately assume bad boys, sexy girls, or Rocks Stars, but seriously, leather has become a staple in a fashionista’s wardrobe.

It is hard to say exactly when leather became a part of the fashion world. Evidence shows that even in prehistoric times leather was used for clothing.

In the 1980’s, leather became very powerful with Punk Culture and then with Heavy Metal fans, like my husband LOL

But designers turned that image around and presented leather as chic sophisticated and fun.

This year and last year, leather appeared in collection after collection; and season-after-season, leather appears with the biggest personalities walking on the fashion street.

While leather was typically stereotyped as a cool/winter weather material, fashion trends do change!

Leather can be easily worn in all seasons, done in fresh beautiful colors from leather dresses, jackets, vests and leggings to shorts, tops and skirts.

I’ll show you that summer leather can be as comfortable as a pair of flip flops.

So, if you just can’t get enough with leather, don’t worry about it because this is a look set to be around for a long time.

My rules for leather:

I always love black with black, or black with white, using neutral colors for my taste, and if I choose a big purse, there is no need for big accessories.

Also, keep it simple and and tasteful because you always want to look classy never trashy

Stay fabulous.

Bikini Mom

The history of the Bikini can be traced back to the Roman Empire, when Roman women wore bikini-like garments for competitive athletic events.

Hundreds of years later, French women re-welcomed the Bikini, provoking controversy within the Church and French society.  The majority of people first thought this two-piece outfit was too risqué and scandalous, but little-by-little over time it became more acceptable around the globe.

Miss World beauty pageant contestants first wore bikinis in 1951, but the person who truly revolutionized the world with this unique outfit was the one and only Bridget Bardot, when she was first photographed wearing a Bikini at the Beach during the Cannes film festival.

Moving to the real subject of this post, I would like to open my heart to all of you gorgeous friends.

As women, we are often accustomed to thinking that bikinis only belong to Size Zero bodies without imperfections, or women who workout like everyday nonstop.

But truthfully, it is really all about how we feel inside with ourselves :)

Many women, like myself, are mothers, and of course with pregnancy our bodies change.

I am very proud to share with all of you my history: I gained over 75 pounds in nine months, and after my pregnancy I was very unhappy with the way I looked.   So I decided to change that immediately with healthy dieting, exercise, and so much work.  But I can tell you, I will never be the same size I was at age 18 or so, but I’m completely happy with who I am now.

No body is perfect, we all have imperfections, and if you don’t, you are one lucky girl!!

But for the majority of us, like it or not, cellulite and stretch marks are our-best friends for life. LOL

… And you know what? It’s no big deal!!

I believe from the bottom of my heart, that every woman has her own beauty, in her own way.

The secret is to accept yourself and be happy for who you are.

So if you think Bikini only belong to Victoria Secret models and Size Zero Chics, I will tell you I disagree a 100%!

It is not about size, it is not about a perfect body, is about being happy in your own skin :)

Remember, you are beautiful because there is only one you :)

So, while summer is here, get to the beach or the pool with your bikini and enjoy this precious time of the year.

I always say this: “don’t look for anybody’s approval, only your own.”

Stay fabulous!

Relax in Casual Style

DSC_0068Hello beauties, today I want to show a very simple and casual way to dress for a Sunday afternoon.

The right casual style can suit any of us, if we are smart with our choices.

Wonders can be done with simple casual clothes. With the correct basics and right accessories, an ordinary outfit can look so very chic!

Casual summer clothes were meant to be easy to wear and comfortable, especially for a relaxing day with the family, or of course any day just shopping.

Putting together a cute outfit is so easy and fun!

Here are my basic rules to look sharp when I’m dressing casual:

– It is so important that whatever you choose to wear, it fits your body properly and all colors match.

– If I’m wearing very inexpensive clothes, I make sure my accessories are of very good quality.  I will say, at least two master piece accessories are needed to bring perfection to any of my simple outfits: the Purse and Shoes. They need to be the center of my look :)

– You can pair up any flat shoes, and take glamorous classy steps to elevate your casual style, but please, leave the sandals for the beach, and the sneakers for running :)

If you have the class and the style, you can wear a potato bag and still look amazing.

So relax ladies, and stay fabulous!

Fashion on the Tennis Court

Today I want to show fashion on the tennis court because I have played tennis for a little while now, and it is definitely my favorite sport, especially because of the big fashion influence.

When we do tennis clinics, we sometimes play a game called Queen of the Court.

My trainer, Miles Bentley, was the first one who introduced me to the game, and I honestly love it, not only because you have to be the best and win against everyone to become the Queen of the Court, but also because of the way we dress up to play tennis makes me seriously feel like I’m the Queen, LOL…

I am a strong believer that we always have to look fabulous, every day and everywhere, and that is so true in tennis as well.

Women tennis players not only do their best performance on the court, they bring to it the latest fashion trends.

Here is a little History about how tennis and fashion met each other:

Starting in 1890, the color white became the traditional color for Wimbledon.  After World War I, female tennis players became more open-minded, stylish, and fashion practical at the court. Fashion on the Court started to change in 1922 with Suzanne Lenglen, when she decided to wear a Short Skirt with Cardigans and a bandeau, instead of the traditional hat at Wimbledon – a very big surprise for many at that time.  Her fashion statement changed the court forever.

The tennis fashion industry became more powerful every year, with professional tennis players promoting top brands. In late 1990’s the Williams sisters, Venus and Serena, revolutionized tennis fashion with their own colorful styles. The two sisters not only played some of the best tennis matches, they also captivated the audience with their dangling earrings and hair beads. Photographers captured their amazing tennis moments as well as awesome fashion.

Tennis and fashion are connected to the hips forever!  Nike, Adidas, and many others brands, work together with professional players to create the best fashions style in court.

One of my favorite styles is definitely Maria Sharapova.  She is the undisputed Queen of Tennis Style.  The way how she dresses up, is how she expresses to the world who she is, using the center of the court as her own fashion runway.  You have to just love the design that Nike and her created together.  She brings the glam to the court and dresses to win.

Why did I decided to pursue tennis, and why is it now my favorite sport?  Well, that’s because to me, tennis has 3 major components I need in my life: Glam, Cardio and Fashion :)

Many thanks to my great coaches: Michael Saunders; and Miles Bentley, Director of Tennis for Cliff Drysdale Tennis at In Shape, for their wonderful collaboration on this post.

Stay fabulous!
